• Global airline seat manufacturer transforms supply chain operations with LeanDNA’s factory management technology

AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 17, 2019)—LeanDNA, a purpose-built analytics platform for factory inventory management, announced today it has achieved 36 percent inventory reduction in just three months for Safran Seats GB (Safran), which specializes in manufacturing business and first-class aircraft seats.

Safran tapped into LeanDNA’s actionable inventory optimization software to automate and standardize the company’s shortage management workflows. Prior to implementing LeanDNA, Safran lacked visibility into its data integrity—the company estimates its inventory data was only 10 percent accurate—which left value-driving inventory opportunities hidden in cumbersome Excel reports.

“I’ve implemented two ERP systems at two different companies and I’ve never seen anything that gives the visibility LeanDNA gives,” said Carolanne Wilson, head of operations supply for Safran Seats GB. “Our homegrown shortage reports were painful, time-consuming, and inaccurate, plus we were duplicating efforts across the procurement team. LeanDNA’s collaborative functionality gives us visibility into our data integration issues and makes intuitive recommendations to our staff.”

Safran Seats GB produces top-of-the-line business and first-class aircraft seats including the Aura, Optima and Venus models for airlines and original equipment manufacturers, and also manages repair and aftermarket inventory. The business has three sites throughout the United Kingdom.

“Balancing inventory levels with an ERP system alone is untenable within a complex manufacturing system,” said Richard Lebovitz, CEO of LeanDNA. “Our partnership with Safran proves that investing in the factory management level of an organization’s supply chain will yield unprecedented business growth by empowering on-the-ground factory staff. LeanDNA automates inventory analysis, prioritizes daily recommendations and adds critical visibility to procurement efforts.”
